Hansen Hat Trick Elevates Undefeated Minnesota Aurora in 10-0 Victory

Uncategorized

EAGAN, Minn. – Led by a first half hat trick from Maya Hansen, Minnesota Aurora roared past RKC Third Coast 10-0 in front of 4,531 fans at TCO Stadium on Wednesday evening.

Star of the Game Hansen started the scoring in the third minute off an assist from Cat Rapp – a trending duo on the pitch. The two have combined for 24 points (nine goals and six assists).

“It feels really good to come together as a team and put all of the talent, hard work, and grit together, seeing it all pay off,” said Hansen on her hat trick and the team’s performance.

Hansen is now the Minnesota Aurora’s all-time leading goal scorer in franchise history with 10, surpassing Morgan Turner’s eight. Hansen’s hat trick is only the second finished by an Aurora player, with the first courtesy of Turner in a 5-1 win over Green Bay Glory on July 9, 2022 to close out the regular season.

Five players found the back of the net for the first time this season: Arianna Del Moral in the 36th minute, Morgan Stone in the 44th minute, Sophie French in the 49th minute, Tianna Harris in the 53rd minute, and Kaitlyn MacBean in the 63rd minute.

Hannah Adler also scored in the 56th minute to round out the 10-0 victory.

Del Moral, Stone, and Adler’s goals came from distance while center back Tianna Harris found the back of the net off of a corner kick. The game featured seven unique finishers.

“It’s nice to see a variety in goals and goal scorers. It helps us as we continue through the season to make players feel good, that they can be the person to score on any given night,” said Head Coach Nicole Lukic. “Every game we continue to sharpen things up. We’re continuing to find those little tweaks and bring them into our next game.”

The 10-0 win is the largest margin of victory in the USL W League through the 2023 season and third largest since the league’s inception in 2022.

Minnesota Aurora’s next game is Sunday, June 4 at Rochester FC. They will be back in action at TCO Stadium against the Chicago Dutch Lions on June 7. Schedule and ticket information can be found at mnaurora.com. Home matches will be streamed by Fox 9.
